Choosing a Recommender
You don't have to use this feature, but we strongly recommend that you do.
It lets you specify a person or organization whose tastes or standards you trust to guide you to material suited to your own tastes and standards--in anything from music to medical information, magazine articles to monster trucks.
For a quick demonstration of how this helps, try looking for paintings of mountains that were recommended by George Sternwallow, and then look again specifying Flora Brilliante as your recommender. Notice a difference? Whose tastes are closer to your own?
Choosing a recommender is especially useful when there are large amounts of content in the category you're seeking. It makes all the clutter and clamor that's normally associated with search engines effectively disappear. And because less of your time is wasted on material that doesn't suit your tastes, you end up seeing more of the kind of material you really want.
Recommenders are presented in order of their popularity among Pinpointer users within each category. You can also use partial typing to go straight to a recommender who you already know you like.
